ARTIST
Heinz Gaugel:
This internationally
renowned painter maintained a studio in Fonthill until
his death in 1991. Having emigrated from Germany in
1951, Gaugel is famous for his huge mural work, including
"Behalt!", a 265’ "cyclorama"
on display in Berlin, Ohio. Two more of his murals,
"History of the Niagara Peninsula" and "History
of the Welland Canal" may be found at the Seaway
Mall in Welland. |
